Sweeney Todd
So, yesterday I went to see Sweeney Todd.
What to say? Different from what I expected and different from Tim Burton's usual movies... I can't say if I liked it or I didn't... it was bloody, that's the right word. Bloody, dark and quite twisted; and while I expected that (being the main character a barber who cuts his clients' throats), it was more violent than I through.
The actors were supreme, sometimes Johnny Depp did a gesture that reminded me of Captain Jack Sparrow (Pirates of the Caribbean), Helena Bonham Carter was very into the role and Alan Rickman (while he reminded me of Snape - Harry Potter) was a wonderful villain.
However, it was the story that sometimes was too rushed and didn't make sense...
Also, usually in Tim Burton's movies I like the songs (The Nightmare before Christmas, Corpse Bride), instead in this one I was often annoyed by them... too many songs in a movie that didn't require any: at least, that's my opinion.
So, I'm perplexed and even a bit disappointed... I didn't not like it, but I didn't like it at the same time...
